A Midsummer Night’s Dream 18/6/2022

If Shakespeare can do it, we can do it too! All we need is a little love potion!

Summer is a blessed time, especially for us Torontonians who stay indoors for five successive months. So, when summer arrives, we need to do our part to welcome it, to say our prayers to it, to enjoy the long, Sun-filled hours.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream was us opening the summer and allowing it into our hearts with our loved ones at Cherry Beach. We played improv games, danced around the fire, listened to amazing live music, expressed our hopes and prayers for the coming summer and then buried our offerings in the ground to let them flourish and grow into blossoming trees. At the end, we built an altar on our hopes from scavenged rocks, branches, flowers and everything beautiful we could find around. And, right after that, the Moon appeared through the clouds, in its full glamour, and gifted us its shining silver light.

But whoever stole our lights between 4 AM and next morning - it ain’t cool!
